I finally made it out to the Australia zoo today located in Beerwah, a two hour train ride from here. Unfortunately it rained half of the time I was there but being able to see the Irwin family in action made up for it! We were reminded that Steve passed away 8 YEARS ago. I loved the place, it didn’t even seem like a zoo. The grounds were clean and the animals had large, natural looking enclosures. That $60 admission fee is definitely helping keep the place looking good.

The highlight of course was watching Terri, Bindi and Robert feed the crocs. Bindi put on a little dance show for the kids beforehand and ran a really sweet video of her dad which you can view here. I took some other videos of Terri and Bindi feeding a croc from the platform and of Robert too.

Let’s throw in some feathered creatures that made an appearance before the croc show started (they were not eaten!)

Now back to the crocs!

They’re doing a great job in Steve’s absence and it looks like they plan on expanding the zoo soon. Don’t miss it if you’re ever in the area!
